U-Hearts Ukraine & Pet Family Partnership Announcement

Published by Pets Corner | September 30, 2022

Pets Corner is committed to helping the people and pets of Ukraine. We have recently partnered with the wonderful team at U-Hearts Foundation. This incredible organisation is helping to feed, protect and support abandoned pets affected by the ongoing conflict.

The people at U-Hearts have shown an incredible level of dedication and compassion in helping animals. Since they began their campaign in 2020, their network of aid has reached 53,000 dogs and 47,000 cats.

Our Chairman Dean Richmond is passionate about giving ongoing support and had this to say, about the amazing work being done:

We were compelled to help from the moment that we heard about the cause. It’s a privilege to join the campaign and help the animals of Ukraine during this awful time.”

With many more animals left to help, we want to show our dedication to this important cause. With the help of our brilliant brands, we have been able to put together ongoing donations.

26 Pallets of Pet Food

Pet Food brands Canagan, Yora, McAdams, Tribal, MORE, Sense6 and Greenacres have together contributed 26 pallets of pet food.

This first batch of donations totalling over 16 tonnes and has already landed in Kyiv for distribution.

These pet food shipments will continue to be donated every 4 months, for at least the next 2 years.

Nothing goes to Waste

Our ethos has always been that we hate waste, and we want our imperfect stock to be used somewhere. To help further feed those hungry mouths, we are committing to donating short-dated pet food from our stores and warehouse.

Finally, we have given a donation of £20,000 to aid in funding important medical care in shelters.

The suffering in Ukraine is sadly ongoing, so we encourage anybody who can, to support U-Hearts. Every donation makes a difference to pets and those people dedicated to helping them.

The 'Save Pets of Ukraine' campaign has been created to enable people in the UK to support the cause and is spearheaded by U-Hearts, the Pet Industry Federation (PIF) and spottydog communications.
