How do you know what toy to get for your dog?

As dogs have different personalities, they’ll also have their preference for toys. If you’ve got a calmer dog who likes a good snooze and is gentler, you might find they prefer a plush toy they can snuggle up with at bedtime. If you’ve got a dog who never seems to have an off switch and is always ready to play, pick something you can play fetch with, but they can also throw about by themselves. For dogs with solid jaws who love a good game of tug try a rope toy or something from our Cuddly but Tough range. Just remember you should never leave a dog unsupervised when chewing.

What colours can dogs see?

It’s a common misconception that dogs are colour blind or only see in black and white, dogs do see colour they just see some colours more easily than others. Whilst red or orange may be a bright, vibrant colour for us, it’s thought dogs see these colours as a duller brown, grey or even black. But when it comes to blue and yellow colours, dogs find it much easier to see them – no wonder they love a good yellow tennis ball! Don’t forget, whilst their eyesight might not be as colour focused as ours, their hearing and sense of smell far surpasses ours so even if they can’t spot their new toy right away, they’ll always be able to sniff it out!
