OUR TOP TEN UK PET-FRIENDLY BREAKS — No. 2 —

North Cornwall

Old Borough House, Cornwall

With many miles of the South West Coast Path featuring in North Cornwall, and many dog-friendly beaches featuring along its stretch, it’s no wonder that so many humans and their hounds head for this stunning part of the country. A plethora of scenic paths awaits, covering rugged shores, pretty towns and rolling moors, so there’s something to suit all doggy walking abilities.

The popular towns of Newquay and Padstow are famous Cornish holiday hotspots, where there’s plenty of pottering about and things to see around every corner with your canine. If it’s beaches that you’re searching for though, the coastline provides sandy bays and spacious stretches, many of which welcome your pooch all year round! We recommend Watergate Bay and Porth Joke, but you can let the one with sandy paws decide their personal favourite.

For a large family escape, The Tall House in the heart of Newquay couldn’t be better, but if you’d rather set up a little further north in the county, The Old Borough House features incredible sea views, and is even the former home of Sir Francis Drake.
